Open Access Research on Coronavirus

Open Access Research on Coronavirus

LitCovid is a curated literature hub for tracking up-to-date scientific information about the 2019 novel Coronavirus. It is the most comprehensive resource on the subject, providing a central access to relevant articles in PubMed. The articles are updated daily and are further categorized by different research topics and geographic locations for improved access.

“National Science and Technology Advisors from a dozen countries have been holding regular calls on the COVID-19 responses. A topic of considerable interest and discussion is enhancing the ability of researchers and other stake holders to access and re-use or text-mine all published articles on coronaviruses, SARS-CoV-2,and COVID-19. This timely access is critical, as it allows researchers to keep up with the rapidly growing body of literature and identify trends and relevant information in efforts to characterize this novel virus and address the associated global health crisis. On January 30, 2019 the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board on COVID-19 issued a statement that called on countries, institutions, communities and partners to ensure that all relevant information about the outbreak is shared openly and rapidly”.

More than 30 leading publishers have committed to making all of their COVID-19 and coronavirus-related publications, and the available data supporting them, immediately accessible in PubMed Central (PMC) and other public repositories. This will help to support the ongoing public health emergency response efforts.
